About
Who We Are
We’re a team of engineers, remote workers, and perpetual travelers who got tired of buying travel gear that looked good on Amazon but failed in the field.
boostedvalue.com started as a shared frustration: every “best travel gadget” list recommended the same products based on manufacturer specs, not real-world use. Nobody was testing a 100W charger at sustained load for 30 minutes. Nobody was measuring whether a power bank actually delivered its rated wattage past 50% battery. Nobody was telling you that your “65W” charger drops to 45W when you plug in two devices.
So we started doing it ourselves.
What We Do
We test travel tech under real conditions — sustained loads, thermal stress, mixed-voltage environments, TSA-compliant limits. Every recommendation is backed by:
- Sustained-load testing using USB-C power meters (Fnirsi FNB58)
- Real-world scenarios — tested in coworking spaces, airport lounges, hostels, and 14-hour flights
- Independence — we buy every product we test. No manufacturer samples, no sponsored units.
Why Trust Us
We publish what we measure, even when it hurts. If a charger runs hot at 60% of its rated wattage, we say so. If a power bank won’t charge a laptop past 70%, we tell you. Our testing methodology is documented in every article, and every result is reproducible with the same equipment.
We also disclose every affiliate relationship clearly, on every page where it applies — not buried in a footer.
Meet the Team
BoostedValue is operated by a small team of engineers and digital nomads based between Panama, Mexico, and Southeast Asia.
Our Track Record
We’ve been testing travel tech since 2026, and we update this count as our library grows. Every result we publish comes from units we bought ourselves and tested under the same protocol: sustained load, 30 minutes minimum, controlled ambient temperature, measured with a USB-C power meter.
